I had my stickers removed by the same guy who repainted my tank. If you are set on doing the job yourself, be patient!! Also, the clear coat is on top of the decal so you need to be careful that you don't mess up the top coat.
The hair dryer method will work!
I must agree that the look of the bike is much cleaner minus the decals.
